Aftercare

Your tattoo is only as good as the healing process. Follow these steps carefully.

First 2–4 Hours

Keep the bandage or wrap on for the first two to four hours after your session. This protects the fresh tattoo from bacteria and allows initial plasma to settle.

Gentle Wash

Wash the tattoo gently with unscented antibacterial soap (like Dial Gold) and lukewarm water. Use clean hands only — no washcloths or sponges. Pat dry with a clean paper towel, never a cloth towel.

Moisturize Lightly

Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free aftercare ointment (Hustle Butter, Aquaphor, or a similar product) for the first 3–5 days. After that, switch to an unscented lotion. Less is more — you want the skin to breathe.

No Sun or Tanning

Keep the tattoo out of direct sunlight and away from tanning beds for at least two weeks. UV exposure fades fresh ink and can damage healing skin.

No Swimming or Soaking

No swimming pools, hot tubs, saunas, or soaking baths for two full weeks. Showers are fine, but keep the tattoo out of standing water.

Don't Pick or Scratch

As the tattoo heals, it will flake and peel. Do not pick, scratch, or peel the skin. Let it shed naturally. Picking can pull out ink and cause scarring.

Loose Clothing

Avoid tight clothing over the fresh tattoo for the first week. Friction from tight fabrics can irritate the healing skin and affect the final result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept walk-ins or is it appointment-only?

We accept limited walk-ins Tuesday through Thursday for small pieces under 3 inches. Anything larger, custom-designed, or requiring color work needs an appointment. Book at least 2–3 weeks ahead for weekend slots — those fill up fast.

What's the minimum age to get tattooed?

You must be 18 or older with a valid government-issued photo ID. No exceptions, even with parental consent. We check IDs at the door for every client.

What's your touch-up policy?

One free touch-up session within 90 days of your original appointment, provided you've followed aftercare instructions. Touch-ups for pieces damaged by sun exposure, picking, or improper aftercare are charged at the artist's hourly rate.

Do you do cover-ups?

Yes, all three artists do cover-ups. Bring reference photos of the existing tattoo to your consultation. Some pieces may require laser fading sessions before cover-up work begins — we'll let you know what's possible during your consultation.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Eat a solid meal beforehand, stay hydrated, wear clothing that gives easy access to the placement area, and bring headphones or entertainment for longer sessions. Avoid alcohol the night before — it thins your blood and increases bleeding.

How much does a tattoo cost?

Pricing depends on size, placement, detail, and the artist. Small pieces start at $150, larger work is quoted by the hour ($150–$200/hour depending on the artist). We'll give you a firm estimate during your consultation after seeing your reference images and discussing the design.
